DESIGN THEORY BOOK FOR HIGH SCHOOLERS
A collection of essays, formatted into a book designed to introduce high school students to the world of typography.
Always keeping the younger audience in mind, the focus was on legibility, playfulness and breaking up large amounts of text. Breaking free of some of the usual constraints of layout allows the page to become a space to explore.
The coral and cream colour palette is both approachable and energetic. No images were used in the book - instead letters and symbols become ornamentation and visual metaphor.
The project relied heavily on creating systems within InDesign through Paragraph and Character Styles to create a professional layout.
